Burlesque Reflection

You drifted silently and spun such lies;
A burlesque trap whose lips made dull the stars.
Where was the innocence behind those eyes?

In just a blink you’d carved through bone to mind
And kissed your way through this fair willow’s bark:
You drifted silently and spun such lies.

Blind digits touched me raw, bled out my sky
Until my questioning could not be barred,
Where was the innocence behind those eyes?

You lapped me up, upon my milk-skin dined -
The Prince of Cats - then pawed me still and marred;
You drifted silently and spun such lies.

A dream-like twin Orion formed on high
To swallow down the coming morning’s lark.
Where was the innocence behind those eyes?

You loved me guilty, struck my body trite.
Reflected in glass puddles black with tar
You drifted silently and spun such lies.
Where was the innocence behind those eyes?
I am quite proud of this, the proudest I've ever been of a piece in a long while. My aim was to write something that was sensual while not being focused on sex. Losing my innocence is something I've been afraid of for a long time and I think this reflects a part of me which doesn't fit in with my current lifestyle. I've got a lot of thinking to do and this is perhaps a way to get me strarted. Thanks for reading.
