Gratitude - Haiku

Spread Commercialist!
Lay claim to all untouched lands
and bring heaven’s coin.
Another haiku, I am enjoying writing in this form at the moment. I felt awkward when writing it because I was uncomfortable with using a traditional style, which is used in order to comment on nature, to discuss a subject which is most obviously a more social observation.

Nonetheless, I think that very fact adds power to the message. That being that the spread of commercialism throughout our world is slowly diminishing the rich culture we enjoy and seek. It is a satirical piece, as you can see from it's addition to the satire gallery, so please do not dub me as a supporter of commercialism because of the 'heaven's coin' image at the end. The title is important in understanding the content, and the fact it is a satirical haiku, because in a perfect world this would be adressed to a fat cat who spares no thought for protecting natural beauty. He who sacrifices our world for profit.

I sound like an activist. I am not, but I don't agree with the diminishment of world culture. I do not befriend trees. That should be made clear.

Thanks for the comment. A very nice poem you wrote too. I would buy you a cup of coffee but I think we both know that would end badly.
